Announcing the 2014 Book Arts Guild Introduction to Bookbinding Class Series

 Sundays, February 16 & 23, and March 2 & 9, 2014 4:00-7:00 pm

Registration fee for the series is $125 for BAG members and $150 for non-BAG members

This 4-session course in Bookbinding will encompass an introduction to bookbinding tools and techniques. It will include the basics of binding: cutting, folding, determining paper grain, etc. Simple books will be constructed, including a variety of pamphlet stitch books, a stab binding with a hard cover, variations on the accordion binding and a Coptic sewn book. Taught by Book Arts Guild members, the class is an excellent introduction to beginners into the world of bookmaking.

Class will be held at the 2100 Building, 2100 24th Avenue South, Seattle, WA 98144

There is free parking below the building and street parking on adjacent blocks. The classroom is on the second floor. The 2100 Building is accessible via elevator and stairs.

Sunday February 16: Class introduction and accordion variations with Jenny Craig

Sunday February 23: Pamphlet binding with Lisa Hasegawa

Sunday March 2: Stab binding with Maggie Booth

Sunday March 9: Coptic binding with Nan Robkin

Class will be filled on a first-come, first served basis with a minimum of 4 and maximum of 12 students. Registrations will be confirmed via email or mail, along with a short list of tools to bring to class. Supplies used in the class will be provided.
