This year marks the 25th anniversary of Catherine Alice Michaelis’ May Day Press, situated by the south Salish Sea, in Shelton, WA. You are invited to join Catherine for a presentation highlighting recent and upcoming developments in her work, including botanical contact prints, and sewn books.

Catherine Alice Michaelis is an artist, lecturer, publisher, curator, teacher, and most recently – videopoet and animator. As proprietress of May Day Press, she is best known for her artist’s books and printmaking projects, incorporating letterpress and pressure printing techniques. Her work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions throughout the country. Catherine was recently profiled in the Nature episode of the PBS series Craft in America.
