Susan Share, Dances with Books

Susan Share is an innovative New York book artist internationally known for her performance work. Trained as a traditional bookbinder, Susan has worked as book conservator for the libraries of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the New York Historical Society, and the Brooklyn Museum. Susan creates artists’ books as well and her bookwork is in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Ruth and Marvin Sackner Archive, and the Brooklyn Museum. Her extensive teaching experience at major book arts centers has covered her many areas of interest. This slide lecture traced Susan’s evolution in the book arts and explored how she uses book structures in her dynamic performances.
