Plan Your 2025 Staycation: A collection of local exhibits and events available to everyone


THIS WEEKEND - THIS WEEKEND

Bainbridge Island Museum of Art (BIMA)’s popular DogEar Festival returns April 4-6, 2025.

The immersive three-day event will once again bring together artists, community, curators, scholars, and creatives for lectures, hands-on printmaking and demonstrations in the galleries, a whimsical Edible Book “Chompetition,” a pop-up print market, a concert with the Bushwick Book Club, and plenty of other live activations and music to keep art-lovers of all ages occupied. This year’s festival highlight is BIMA’s current Artists’ Books exhibition, Power of the Presses. It’s a wide-ranging look at how printing is used creatively today (more below)

Power of the Presses at Bainbridge Island Museum of Art (BIMA)

March 7 - June 8, 2025

Power of the Presses is a large-scale group exhibition of artists’ books, broadsides, and diverse print works illuminating the creative potency of this art form. The exhibition will include opportunities for hands-on art making in the gallery. More information HERE.


Tacoma Wayzgoose - May 2, 2025 - 10am - 5pm

Tacoma Public Library Main Branch, 1102 Tacoma Avenue South, Tacoma WA 98402

Tacoma Wayzgoose is a community letterpress, printmaking, and book arts extravaganza. Meet local printers and view their wares, print your own keepsakes, make paper and bind books. A highlight of the weekend is steamroller printing, where local artists carve 2X3 foot sheets of linoleum and print on giant paper. It’s pretty cool. More information HERE.


Seattle Art Book Fair - May 10 & 11, 2025 - 11am - 5pm

Washington Hall, 153 14th Ave, Seattle, WA 9812

The Seattle Art Book Fair is a free festival that celebrates independent publishing, book design, and artist books. The nonprofit event hosts local, national, and international artists, designers, and organizations and includes talks, activities, and art installations, and 85+ exhibitors.
